I was recently asked by one of our members to put him on my prayer list. And I believe it's appropriate that those members who wish also include him in their prayers.

I've copied a portion of his email to me that explains what's going on:

On the 30th I have a pre surgery consult and the 6th of December is a surgery date for round 4 on the back. They are going to fillet me open on the backside and plug in another lead to another 3 sets of nerves. Trying to eliminate a mess of low back pain. They will plug in to the battery I already have working on 3 nerves in the low back and blocking pain signals down the legs going to the brain. This is round 4. I need prayers that this will work and it will be the last round of "fun".

I am so tired of hurting all the time. I hurt real good when just working over an engine compartment for just 10 minutes. Then when things go not so smooth the frustration makes tense muscles which in turn makes it all ache (badly). Some times I feel like the only way to beat this crap is to just up and die.

who is it? most of you know him as thunderfoot. his given name is Wayne. he has a small mobile mechanic business and it's suffering because he isn't able to spend much time bending over cars and trucks before he has to stop 'cause of the pain.

and don't worry, Wayne isn't about to give up. constant pain is discouraging and sometimes it wears a body down .. luckily Wayne's spirit is strong.

It might come as a surprise to a few but I believe in the power of prayer. I know they are answered.

Consider it done. These prayer requests are quite common on the motorcycle sites I frequent, it will be no problem adding another name to the list.

Between the last post and now, several things have happened so I thought it would be appropriate to update everyone on Wayne's status.

For whatever reasons, in the week before he was to see the surgeon, Wayne attempted suicide .. unsuccessfully. It took me over a week to regain contact with him, and now, several days later, I'm happy to report Thunderfoot is back!

For the time being, he is confined to the hospital, but has access to the internet and has already begun posting again.

Though he hasn't formally OK'd it, I'm sure he won't mind me posting his room number so his friends here at GTG can send him their well wishes and a little Christmas cheer. Send your cards and letters (sorry, no phone calls) to:

Sometimes I catch this stuff when its in forums other than the football one or general announcements and such. But I missed this one until today.
So many people on this site, including me, have such faith in the power of prayer Every once in a while, someone surprises me.
I have been fortunate to live with extreme physical pain for only a short period in my life. I know others like Wayne who have done it for a long time. There are no words to describe what his life must have been like.
My prayers join the rest for health for his body and his mind.
