The Chosen Explained

Just finished watching an interview with DW. Yes, I still don't like him.

But, for all his bombastic behaviour and his bloviating ranting the guy has a handle on what is going on in NAS__AR.

He was asked his opinion on The Chosen 35 Rule. His answer was so simple I wish that I had thought it through to DW's conclusion.

The Chosen 35 Rule is, simply put, franchising in disguise.

It takes a certain number of teams, in this case 35, and give them a financial value which can be used for attaining sponsorship.

Example: If you want to start a small business with an above-average chance of success, you buy a franchise. (McDonalds, Kinkos, Auto Zone, etc.) If you want to do it all on your own, you start from scratch and gut it out.

If you want an immediately successful Cup team, you buy one of the Chosen. If you can't get a Chosen franchise or if you want to do it all on your own, you start from scratch and gut it out (Red Bull, Front Row Racing).

Looking at it from Doofus's perspective, it all makes sense why NA__AR is so resistant to changing the Chosen 35 Rule. It appears the vast majority here hate the Rule but, like income tax, it'll probably be with us, unfortunately, forever.

Thanks for the explanation, DW. I still don't like you.

Re: The Chosen Explained

Bob,while DW does get on my last nerve,he is correct about other things as well.Read this link and sorry to the #3 and #28 fans but if Nascar would not retire the #43 then the other two numbers should have zero thought about being retired. FOX Sports on MSN - NASCAR - We can work it out Use or lose, period!

DW is right! Thanks for bringing this to GTG. I don't have an issue with DW. In fact, I like him. I know many others here don't. Gotta give the man credit for this one. That means you, LSC!

I give thanks to all of those who hate me 'cause I dislike DW.

Now Penny please realize that I cannot remember the last time I made a negative DW statement.

Nor can I. When I first joined GTG, I lost a bet to you. You won ... but I know it was difficult for you to refrain from bashing Dim and/or Nit.

Probably the reason I have let up is that in the last 3 plus months they have not been in the booth. I'm sure I'll be relentless again next season, just as he is with that darn boogity foolishness.

I like the "boogity" ...

Besides, there are far more detrimental issues to focus on these days with the state of NASCAR along with the media coverage. A little "Boogity, boogity, boogity" is the least of my concerns.

The least of mine also, but I don't like him whether he says it or not.
