Thanks! Thats the impression that I've gotten. I've got a couple of months to play with it before the March race. Plan to mess with the local police and fire broadcasts just to get familiar with the buttons and knobs.

This might be a stupid question , How far away from the track can you get a signal? Is there a way to hear that stuff from home , other then the pay stuff on cable or on nascar.com?

Depend's on factors like weather and other's but about one mile.You may want to read this link. Racescanners.com
