| Ward Burton dumped from No.4 Chevy Ward Burton is out of the No. 4 Chevrolet at Morgan-McClure Motorsports. Todd Bodine will drive the car at the season-finale Ford 400 this week at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, and the team will look for a new driver for the 2008 season. "Ward has worked hard for us this year," said co-owner Tim Morgan. "He is a good driver and a friend. Todd has been helpful to us in the past and has agreed to step in and help us benchmark our efforts as we get ready for the 2008 season." -- The Times-Herald Pro Racing | 11/14/07 Petty still mulling a possible sale |

| Re: Ward Burton dumped from No.4 Chevy Todd is sad in the cars to be so good in the trucks. But I hate that this happened to Ward. I really like him. I wish someone would pick him up. The owner of the #4 needs to realize that when you don't have great equipment you can't expect great results.

| Re: Ward Burton dumped from No.4 Chevy Well maybe one day the owner will think about all the different drivers he had and none really accomplished anything and figure out that maybe it's more the equipment than it was the drivers. |

| Re: Ward Burton dumped from No.4 Chevy owners are like gamblers, they pin their hopes on hitting it lucky. for the owner it's finding that driver who so completely jells with the team that they become better than the sum of the parts. kinda like kissing a lot of frogs to find a prince.

| Re: Ward Burton dumped from No.4 Chevy Wahrd wasn't hurt badly. Does a driver of his stature, who is in his twilight years of competition, really need to be remembered as a driver for a field-filler team like Morgan-McClure? It's sad to see a team with the history of Morgan-McClure drop to the level it has. Ditto the Wood Brothers. Ditto Robert Yates Racing. It is a sad, sad day for the sport when teams such as these fall prey to the mega-team conglomerates. Well, they are in good company; Junie Donleavey, Bud Moore, Gary Bechtel, the Jackson Brothers, George Dewitt and the late Billy Hagan, whom I just heard died this morning. Sad times.
