I'd be for real stock cars, but this would be as good as it could get.

Apologize in advance for what is likely a question thats' answer is right in front of me.

Don't understand the - "you could demand standard production engines like on the FIA GT". Is DTM and FIA GT same or related or is this mixing two different racing types/series hoping for a merge that results in something more favorable? Couldn't relate/find FIA GT reference on the DTM site.

The "you could demand standard production engines" - I am too weak to figure also. Sorry. Whos is the "you" that could demand the engines, and who is it he/she is making the demand to?

My best and likely poor guess here is that there is a mix of DTM and some other entity?

Sorry again for what I will likely find I should have understood.

Just point of interest (to/for me) as I perused the DTM site - It appears from reading the tech info on the DTM site that the engines are pretty much very strictly governing body defined likely making them altered in comparison to the standard production engines from the two manufacturers. The definition of the vehicles the manufacturers must provide seem to indicate the only production part on the bodies is the "steel roof". The rest is all non-production stock appearance inclined. More EuroCOT thoughts I guess.

Well there are talks of FIA wanting to merge FIA GT with DTM.

My points were:
1] at least the DTM cars look like production cars (tough they're a
german/euroCOT underneath really).
2] DTM aero is not going all crazy like with the "twisted sister"
3] intstead of the DTM spec engine formula production engines (like for example they're demanding in the FIA GT championship).

So that overall there would some resemblance to stock/production cars (looks and engines) and that NASCAR wouldn't go down the path of F1 in becoming an aerodynamics series (there are other areas where the teams could battle it out).

As for the "you", it's just a poorly phrased idea and I apologize for that.

Thank you. Kinda thought that (the DTM/FIA thing) was what you were talking around but was not quite sure. Appreciate the time taken to clarify.

With regards to the "you" - did not in any way take that as some form of across the bow shot at "me" - at all or in the least so certainly no apologies in that regard necessary.

Thanks again.
