They already do this, kind of, Duck. The BGNE and the BGNW (or what-the-Hell they call the Series' these days). Then Toyota sponsors a big shin dig out at Irwindale in October. I watched it and they put on a good show.
My main concern would be how do you split up the big named drivers? Who goes West and who goes East? If, for example, Jeffie Pooh goes to the East, then doesn't that cut his tee-shirt revenue (and don't forget NA$CAR gets a share of his sales) almost in half? We both know that just ain't gonna fly.
I think the above idea might be preferable to the mess we have now but...?
I believe it's what Bruton had in mind about fifteen-twenty years ago, if you can remember some of his discussions. It went nowhere. Ditto the the ill-fated TRAC- Racing Team Series.
Remember that one of about...? 1992 or 1993 - 32 cars sponsored by sixteen cities across the country, two cars per city, split into divisions, if I remember right. Each city would have a one-mile track, identical to the other fifteen. One race per track per year, with a final championship race with the best from each division racing for the championship. It flopped BIG TIME.
