Marketing Busch and Nextel Series?

I know next season the names will change for Busch and Nextel.

I was just wondering why so often the Busch Series and the Nextel Series races are held the same weekend at the same venue.

When I watch the Busch series on TV most of the stands are empty.

Who wants to spend all day at a Busch series race and then come back the next day to spend it at a Nextel series race?

I submit they be held at different venues.

Say next weekend the Nextel race is held in Phoenix the Busch Series could be held in Darlington or Daytona.

That way people who live out west could go to that race and people who live in the Southeast could go to another race.

Or perhaps Busch Series races could be held at tracks that have closed down or are in danger of being closed down.

Darlington use to host 2 races a year now only one. This way in May it could host the Dodge 400 but then in September host a Busch Series race.

Better for the track, better for local economies, better for attendence at Busch Series races.

I'm sure my logic may be flawed in some way and if it is please post why or add your own ideas. Maybe we could petition NASCAR to make a change.

The reason is $$$

As you say, many people won't come to the track to see the Busch cars all by themselves. Since there's usually plenty of garage space at the tracks, and since many drivers are in both series, why not have the races on the same weekend?

Of course, the garage space and drivers in both series is a direct result of NASCAR scheduling their weak sister races on the same weekend as Cup. So it's understandable that there's always an "opening act" for Cup. Not a bad thing for the low drawing Busch series. Fortunately CTS is able to hold it's own in the fan dept, and they run many more short tracks that the bigger series, so their schedule seldom intercepts Cup weekends.
