| Re: Jimmie Johnson Dominates NASCAR Was good to see someone who clearly could have coasted to a 2nd place finish get on it and go for the win. Had a good one in front of him (17) to race with and am sure this entered in to the decision. Know it did when we were in similar/same scenario. At our level the choice had a lot to do with the potential cost/loss of going for a win against a known idiot. Overall though another ho hum event increasingly seen at the 1.5 mile and above tracks. |

| Re: Jimmie Johnson Dominates NASCAR He could have coasted to 2nd place but with 30 laps to go, on 4 new tires versus Matt's 2 it was pretty likely that the pass could and would be made. I'm neither a lover or hater of HMS but I guess if one of those guys has to win I'd rather see Jeff do it. He's young enough to top 7 titles and like him or not ... he is good enough. There are many others I'd really like to see win it but that isn't gonna happen this year. |

Well, I suppose they have to give the fans what they want!! I know it'll be tough this year with Jimmie Winning the title and all, but my main concern is for the hundreds of thousands of HMS/Johnson/Gordon haters who will be cheering them on next year when Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins the team. |

Whether JJ & Knaus actually win the '07 championship is yet to be determined, but if they do my concern for the direction the sport has taken deepens: two years in a row the champion will be the one with the most blatant examples of cheating in the modern times, setting an example that winning is all that counts, cheating is encouraged. to win back to back championships is not easy, but to have been caught so many times cheating shows a pattern and makes one wonder how many other times their cheating has not been discovered and how many races were won because of their cheating, not because they were they had the best driver in the best car on race day. sad times in the sport I love...

What makes me wonder is, if they are supposedly running legal cars now and dominating like they are...........why were they cheating in the first place? The way they are running now, it's like they are sandbagging for 95% of the race, then hitting the nitrous button the last few laps.
