CTS at Texas

CTS starts in 1 hr. 15 min. Skinner on the pole...Hornaday, 14 points out of the lead, starts 8th. One Cup Raider in the field, Schrub. Chad McCumbee (played Dale Sr. in the movie, "3")qualified outside front row. The kid is coming on... Maybe Petty'll pick him up next season?

16 Raiders in Cup Lite tomorrow. Let's see...one in CTS and sixteen in Cup Lite. Since the ONLY reason these clowns race in the lower ranks is because they just love to race, right? I guess they ALL have other things to do tonight, right?

Anyway, be sure to watch the trucks tonight. I guarantee that the race tonight will be eons more exciting and interesting to race fans than the thing they'll run Sunday. Guar-and-teed!

Re: CTS at Texas

Thanks for the headsup Bob. I didn't know they were running tonight. Should be a good show, as usual! The worst part of it, is having to listen to Mikey the Mouth all night.

Go Southwest Tour vet, Ron Hornaday!!!

I don't want to see him win but my money tonight would be on Kvapil.

I'm also looking for Villeneuve to get a top fifteen tonight, if he stays out of trouble.

Don, I hope you saw the race. As usual it was a great race and probably will be the best race of the entire weekend. Even Mikey's mouth didn't ruin it for me. I wish McCumbee would have won it though.

Re: CTS at Texas

Dang it I had to miss it. Had to be the good daughter and take my Dad somewhere. I hate missing that too. I wish he would have waited til Sunday to go, I wouldn't mind missing the cup race as much.

Petty has signed McCumbee for next year. I beleive McCumbee will race in all six of the summer races Kyle will step out of for TNT. Also I though there were talks about opening up a NWS ride for him as well.

Re: CTS at Texas

Real sweet mess at he end but it was a good race. I'm not convinced that Mikey is announcer material. He got all wound up when something happened on the track. Good to have "racing" on the tube though.

My sentiments exactly. BTW, if races without a preponderance of Cup primadonas won't put butts in the seats, it sure looked to me as though there were a lot of empty seat in the main grandstands at Texas last night, did it? Maybe those were inflatable fans, put there just to fool us stupid fans who don't think Cup is the end all to end all?

I refuse to lower myself to watching the Cup Lite race today. I have made plans for Sunday so I'll forgo Rusty, Andy and Dr. Jerry and listen to it on PRN, which is eons better.

Yep, saw every lap. As usual, the truck race put on an excellent show. I wasnt happy with the outcome, but it was entertaining nonetheless. The racing gods were watching over Skinner. He had two VERY close calls and came away basically unscathed and padded his points lead. Can't say that for Ron.

Re: CTS at Texas

The truck race was a wild ride, that's for sure! I was cheering for Hornaday... and that fiasco at the end was crazy!

I'm also cheering for a rookie that raced in his 2nd ever CTS race on Friday, a guy by the name of Justin Marks. Finished 5th overall in points in ARCA this year. My boss is friends with his parents, so I started looking in to seeing how this guy does. Started 28th, finished 23rd. At least he didn't go backwards!
