I agree to a point. From a fans point of view KY could use another date. From a business point of view even if KY sells out LV will still draw the bigger crowd/money. I have no problem thinking from a business point of view.

I will argue that. KY draws from Cincy, Indy, Louisville, Lexington as far as major cities. State wise, you have KY(of course), Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, West Virginia, Vriginia, Tennesssee, Missouri. Believe me.... The CTS race is carzy packed. On a Busch race weekend Sparta becomes the biggest city in KY.

True, but Kentucky isn't an SMI track... NA$CAR has to listen to Bruton & Co., sadly, Kentucky doesn't have that kind of clout...

Not right now, Duck. But, it still isn't out of court yet, is it? If KY gets the power of the judicial behind it, then NA__AR might be SOOL. Maybe they'll take a California date and give it to KY?

I think this may be great news. NHIS is not a 2 date track. Taking a date from it and giving it to Las Vegas may be a great thing. LV has earned the right to see what it can do with a second date. This should be interesting to see how the schedule for 2009 pans out. Bruton may get his wish and move the second Texas date off the opening weekend of deer hunting season. I guess that may mean two years from this weekend they might as well be racing in Vegas.

I agree that NHIS is not a 2 date track, but neither is LV. Both are boring races. Actually, I think NHIS is better than LV.

deer hunting is a big deal in Texas .. I'd venture to say it has a much bigger financial impact on the state than racing ever hoped to be... and the fall race at Texas just happens, by coincidence maybe, to fall on opening weekend. therefore, many fans who would normally attend the fall race are out chasing Bambi...
