heard about gordon vs. johnson a total of 472,876 times lately,on t.v.,radio and in print.....i might have missed it if it was mentioned,but nobody talks about gordon owning a major share of the 48 car..simply not news???

except for "the Felon", "the Coach" and Teresa, car ownership isn't talked about much. dunno why. Gordo certainly isn't the only driver who's also a car owner... and Harvick races against his own car in BCS so the situation isn't unique (yeah, I know - his wife is actually listed as the owner .. he supplies the bucks and they use her name.)

That is very true. All this hate for Gordon is ridiculous. Other than win, what has the man done???

I sat at Dover a few years ago, and this moron in front of me flipped him off EVERY lap of a 400 miles race.

Come on. I don't know how he even saw anything else. I will grant you that I didn't watch this goon every lap, but whenever I looked down at him, his finger was in the air. I just don't get it. I go racing to see the race, hang with my friends, and down a few beers! Not to spend my entire race in same insane hate fest over someone I don't know.

When Jeff was over for supper recently he mentioned that incident. He said that when he was passing the stands at 140 MPH (or whatever the speed was) all he could see was some guy in a blue shirt flashing the finger at him. He said he couldn't sleep for a few nights because it bothered him so much. I think he's over it now.

Why do some people hate the the Patriots? Because they are are threat to beat their team. Ever been to a Raider game? They hate EVERYBODY but the Raiders. It's the same in racing and just human nature when there is a threat to defeat "your guy" and Gordo has been threatening for a long time.

Gordon has done nothing but win, and not be some fans idea of "manly". My 2 cents is that this analogy doesn really work. What most folks are mad at is just dumb!

Again, not my fave driver, and I have done my share of cussing the TV, but that lasts for about 30 seconds, and then you just have to admit he is the best driver of this generation. I wish he wasn't, but he just is. And as much as folks wanna call Hendirck the Felon, or whatever else he may indeed be, drivers want to drive for him, and he seems to have a way of getting the best folks there.

I would love to see someone other than HMS win the title. It would make my day if Boyer got VERY lucky and passed em both up. But it's just not happening.

I can understand the dislike. That isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the idiot flipping him off for 400 laps, and the drunks harassing folks at races wearing Jeffs gear. It is just pathetic. It really is.

That isn't passion, it's ignorance and stupidity.
