| BDR is no more? I just picked this one up> First impression is that I don't care for it, especially since it's Bill and Gail Davis. Latest on Bill Davis Team Sale: Jacques Villeneuve has apparently completed a buy-in of Bill Davis’ High Point-based Toyota operation, according to sources close to the team, and Villeneuve will have at least a majority interest in the operation, perhaps even full ownership. Last Sunday, when asked about the report of a planned Villeneuve buy-in, Davis said he wasn’t in a position to give a specific answer but did say he was considering a number of options. It is unclear what a purchase price might be. It is also unclear why Villeneuve, who lives in Montreal, would want to buy a NASCAR team, or if Villeneuve might move the team from High Point, where Davis has operated for more than 15 years.(Winston-Salem Journal | NASCAR Notebook)

What I can easily see happening, but I have no knowledge that this is the way it happened is one of two directions. (a) The injured looked at the money the clown who spilled coffee on his lap while enjoying the haute cusine of McDonald's and thought they could stiff BD Trucking for more. (b) The driver was at fault (DWI, reckless driving, speeding, etc., etc.) and the insurance company, which will usually pay the claim no matter the underlying reasons, is now going after Davis. Davis is going through the wringer in order to protect itself against the failings of some jerk driver,(believe me, the Interstates are full of such supposed professional drivers!) thus forcing the insurance company to go after the driver himself. Until I see prove that Bill Davis is trying to stiff someone, I'll maintain my impression that he and Gail are standup people. That's what I, personally, think. |
