Hendrick engines ... at AMS

If Hendrick is concerned, DEI is screwed! Or is this just more publicity to entice fans to the "what ifs"? Tough for Hendrick? I'd say tough for every team.

I think NASCAR.com is desperate for something to write about. You?

What ever happened to rev limiters and higher gear rations? That usually prevents an engine from blowing.

BULL HOCKEY!!!

buried deep within the article is the clue about this writer's intention: there's only been one (yes, one, a single) engine failure by a HMS engine this year - caused by the change to unleaded fuel. so, by the writer's reasoning, the odds are running out on HMS Engine Dept .. there's just gotta be another failure!!! and what if it happens to one of the 3 HMS cars in the Chase?!!! Even worse, what if it happens to JJ or Gordo? - that'd be catastrophic!!!!

BULL HOCKEY!!!

talk about manufacturing a story .. this is a classic example! why not focus on the incredible reliability of the HMS engines? answer: because it's not as exciting or sensational...

Couldn't have said it better myself! Obviously, this writer is not fooling anyone who follows the sport. Well, two of us at least.

.
I think your final statement is germane, Penny. Take into consideration that: (a) It's been a rather lackluster playoff with only two (three is you count Bowyer, but it appears that he's as surprised to be there as the media and the fans are) teams in competition for the Cup and those two are owned by the same person and share the same garage!? NA$CAR set this playoff system up so that we were assured that a half dozen, or more, drivers would be fighting it out each season. What it has developed into is a contest where the drivers do the equivalent of smacking each other with foam rubber bats and lament the rotten "luck" they've had.
(b) It's an article in nascar.com, a vehicle NA$CAR uses to report thing the way they want them reported and to gen up artificial excitement and intrigue when it benefits NA$CAR.

I believe the piece is much ado about nothing (my apologies to The Bard).

Now that's funny as hell Bob. Sorry to say it's very true, but funny none the less.
