Well, I think he really should pull him for one race in the Cup series.

When I first saw it, I really didn't feel that strongly about it, but after watch "inside Nextel Cup" last night, my feelings have changed a bit. That change came in part in what was said.

Greg Biffle told us exactly why it happened. And it seemed a simple enough deal. Carl had run Matt up the track, due to his brakes being overheated. In turn, Matt, not knowing this, gave him a little bump and run in the next turn. Didn't wreck him, just cost him the two or three spots Carl had just gained.

We have all seen what happened next, and it is not the end of the world.

BUT, some of Gregs comments lead me to think this is not the first time Carl has treated his team mates in the manner. It was even stated on the show that Carl may have gotten too big for his britches. I'm gonna watch the replay this morning to get the exact qoute, maybe someone else can quote it.

In my opinion, you just can't have drivers having a confrontation like that with a team mate, on camera. And I think Carl made it a point to embarass Matt on camera. Some of you who are fans of his may feel different.

If he had that same deal with a driver from another team, it would be different. If I'm Jack Rousch, I'm taking some action, and i make it just as public as Carls, to make sure he understands.

I agree that something needs to be done, but a cup race wuill cost jack alot of money by dropping him in the points.
in busch jack can replace carl with matt or greg..............ring ring is mark there . so jack could keep in contention for the owners points.


I'd like to see the quotes because monday night is follow dad and make as much noise as you can night.

I might have to watch it tonight and update later. I have to mow the grass, then get ready for work! If I get that done quick enough, I will check the tape again!

Ya have a point about Cup, but it would really make a statement, and Jack did it with Kurt Busch. But Kurts deal was much worse than Carls, and followed some other actions.

I would be OK with a one race bump in Busch. It wouldn't really hurt anyone, but it would send a message.

I agree something has to be done, but how can you fine someone and take points for a punch that was never really connected to anything?

I don't like Carl a little bit, I have thought he was a fraud for a while, and he's proving that to be correct.

But this is no worse then Jeff Gordon shoving Kenseth, or Robby Gordon and Tony Stewarts shoving, or the Montoya/Harvick "tussle" this summer.

I think Jack will take care of it. We may never know about it, but I bet Carl has lost about 10lb of muscle off his tail this week.

I disagree here , points and fine + nascar involed, we don't need nascar getting inbetween team mates let the teams work it out.

I kinda disagree here... the others were fresh out of the car, adrenaline still pumping pretty good. Carl had time to shower, change, cool off a bit... you know, think about what he's doing.

Well, we have have differnt opinions. I feel the precedent has been set. What is next, if they just argue after the race, you fine them? Should we fine Kenseth and Edwards for the contact on the track that started it all?

I just feel that Jack, based on what he did with Kurt Busch in '05, will handle it.

If they fine or suspend him, the site will be up in arms about that. In the end, what he did was just show his ass, he didn't actually hurt anybody. He actually helped us out. Now we are seeing the real Carl Edwards. A punk and a fraud. I saw an interview with him last night on "NASCAR Now", and it was from before the footage shown on Speed. He was already out of the uniform, and in the clothes he "attacked" Kenseth in.

Just a pure punk. I hope someone shows him it takes more than bulging muscles to be a tough guy. What a bully he is. To show up your team mate like that is just about the most low life thing you could do. And over nothing, just short track racing. Matt did what you always do. He got a bump, bumped back, and thought it was over. And it should have been!

I think that this situation at RFR has been brewing for quite sometime now. I saw Biffle on INC last night, and he took more than one opportunity to throw Edwards under the bus. IMO Biffle should have handled it better. His comments were unnecessarily personal against Edwards. I think there may be some friction going on at RFR involving Biffle & Kenseth vs. Edwards. Now that Mark is gone they are all fighting to be the #1 driver. Don't get me wrong... I think that all three are great drivers, but Edwards is the "total package". Along with his talent... he has looks, drive, and is well-spoken. I can't say that Biffle or Kenseth have all of those qualities.

I have had the opportunity to meet Carl & his family in person on more than one occasion. He is the "real deal". Those of you who call him a fake obviously have the right to your own opinion, but take into consideration that he is young & has some growing up to do. He made a mistake confronting Matt when he knew there were cameras rolling, but if the camera's weren't there I really don't see that Carl was in the wrong. There were no punches thrown and no one was hurt. It was to guys who just got done racing an intense 500 miles and were trying to sort through a problem.

My opinion of Carl has not changed. He's human. He makes mistakes. He's still darn fun to watch race every weekend!

Also i'd like to add for those of you who might think he's on roids... you are talking about a guy who doesn't drink a drop alcohol & is dating a doctor. I highly doubt it... but again ya'll have a right to your opinion.

Why should they fine and take points for something that happened after the race, off the track? They didn't fine Harvick and his happened during the race , on the track. I think Roush should be the one to handle this, not Nascar.
Also why is it that Harvick showed his butt with Montoya, Helton ( I think) said it was cool, and fans said let them go, there was no harm done. Now since it's Edwards doing it to Matt, everybody seems to be upset about it. I don't see the difference.

I don't think NASCAR should get involved with suspension or points deductions... but Rousch needs to handle it.

Well at least one person on this forum has the guts to defend Carl, well, except for the fact that it's an unregistered poster who done it. He's dating a doctor, so what?

Now it may have just been the camera angle, but it looked to me like Carl Edwards was just a wee bit taller than Kenseth. To reiterate another member, these guys were in their street clothes, so it wasn't like Edwards just climbed out of his car and was still jacked up on adrenaline. Obviously Edwards made it a point to do this on camera. I felt bad for Kenseth because he looked like he was personally upset about the whole thing like he just lost his best friend or something.

Sorry Carl, even though you have the looks, the teeth, the fame, the fortune, the doctor, and all the commercial contracts, I have to say I'll forever remember you towering over a guy half your size and bullying him on camera.

That's right. I do have the guts to defend my driver. I just choose NOT to be a member on this board. And it's too bad that the part about him dating a doctor seems to be the only thing you got out of my first comment.

I agree... Carl acted like a complete punk. I'm not denying that. But I think there is anything wrong with driver sticking up for himself if he felt he was wronged. He just should have done it behind camera. And as far as Carl bullying Mark Martin... Mark wouldn't have raced him dirty like Kenseth has the last few weeks in Busch/Cup.

Here's a radio interview Carl did this morning. He admits he looked stupid & he apologized to his fans.

I'd pay 10 bucks to see that. Mark Martin's at least as cut as Carl Edwards... and probably 3 times meaner in a fight.
