| Re: Is Tony Out Of Contention ??? short answer is "YES!" with 4 to go, Tony is 249 back. If the three ahead of him (Gordo, JJ & Clint) all fell ill and were unable to make a single race, Tony could win in a walk .. assuming Carl and Shrub don't press him .. but since they're less less than 45 points behind him, I doubt he'd get away cleanly. now, for Tony to win, he has to average about 65 points more than the front 3 each race (that's about 15 places) .. the easiest way to do that is win the race and sabotage the 24, 48 & 07. If it was only one car, it wouldn't be so bad, but three!!! pretty difficult.... I'd say Tony's chance of pulling it off is between slim and none.... Clint, on the other hand, seems to have found the "consistency pill" and is adapting well to it. He's got an outside chance, but still he's over 100 back and that means he has to average at least 25 points per race (or about 7-9 positions) to beat out Gordo and JJ. A lot more doable but still needs help from the fates. I'd rate his chances at slim. JJ is the only one with a decent shot of unseating Gordo, but Gordo is a money racer: he finds ways to be there when the big money is up for grabs and his record is very, very good in that light.

| Re: Is Tony Out Of Contention ??? If Tony would stop pissing around with altercations on the track with non-contenders like Menard and focus on winning he'd be a lot further a head. Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are too focussed on winning to be playing around with the other drivers, Tony is just too busy mixing it up with everybody else. Tony watch what they do and then just copy it.
