I think that he's mellowed a little too much. Even his interviews are a little vanilla these days. I kind of liked the old Juan. Those who like him respect his arrogance and those who dislike him have less to dislike in this "new, Improved" Juan Pablo.

I'm OK with having less to dislike. I'll be happy to have him blend into the crowd until he proves that he is a cut above the rest. Given time he will attain true stardom within the ranks of NASCAR but first, as the old English gent used to say (His name escapes me at this moment), he needs to "earn it".

its possible that it is a bit of a ruse Bob .... a face for the media, insisted upon by NASCAR and his sponsor

at least that's what im hoping it is ........ i remember what Joe Gibbs said about Tony Stewart ....... basically it was better to have someone with a fire in their belly already then to try and create that fire ........... this is an edict i hold true in all sports ......... JPM has (had) that fire .. and it better not be snuffed out

As do I, Simon. However, if anything could ruin an outstanding driver, the sponsor pressure, the inane TV interviewers and the capricious rule enforcement on NA$CAR's part could do it.
