Bowyer ripped for taking a cautious approach?

Clint Bowyer, who races for Richard Childress Racing, is considered a major threat to Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Still, Bowyer was miffed at hearing that critics have claimed his team has climbed into the hunt by taking the cautious approach in the regular season. "I've heard people say 'Is that fair?' " he said. "I was racing under the same rules going into the Chase as I am now in the Chase. They (NASCAR) make the rules and we abide by 'em. ... I did what I had to do to make the Chase and nothing more. "It's all about being in the Chase and making the Chase. The bottom line is, you've got to do whatever you can do to be there, and we were very conservative all season long and did what it took. Now that we're in it, we're doing what it takes to try to win the championship." -- St. Louis Post-Dispatch

They did it right. The consistent finishes and hard work put them in a position to be in the hunt at the end of the year. Thats smart racing. Or as some call it "Big Picture Racing". Nothing wrong with that.

I can understand the big picture racin.... but that wouldn't work for me. I would be tryin to win it all by layin it all on the line... but that's me.

What I'd have to say about those critics would get me sent to the trailer. Kiss 'em all gently with a chainsaw (replace kiss with...).

Bowyer's doing fantastic... and I have a feeling this is only the beginning.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

Seems to me that he hasn't done anything different than other past "champions" to get the title.

Oh my God, he's a rookie and he might actually take the championship from Gordon and Johnson. We can't have that now, can we!!

Wouldn't that be great? He could win another race or two and them have alittle trouble, and it could be his.
