tell you what, ill make it simple ..... let the # of championships speak for themselves ......... Petty and Sr. are equal and ahead (better) of Gordon

i voted gordon no reason realy except for that goron is like the vince young in nascar his numbers arnt as good as dale's but he always finds a way to win.

there is a question and it was sr. or gordon and the answer will be an opinion from everybody who wants to share there thoughts and when i said to compare gordon to VY the only thing i compared those two was for the fact they both find ways to win and at the same time dont have the most impressive stats of all time.i beleive gordon is better because he can out drive people rather than reck people dale wouldnt have had as many wins as he did if he didnt reck people for them and gordon has won his by just pure driving skill.

I always wondered why the infamous "pass in the grass" was legal. I have no idea what the rules were or if passing in the grass was even addressed, then or now. If the same situation happened today, would it be a legal pass and if it is, should it be?

I know all the Gordon haters like to think he always has a perfect car, but I find it hard to believe that his car, crew chief, engine builder, pit crew, are so good that he always has the perfect car - thus leading to all his wins. It just isn't humanly possible. He could not rack up those kind of stats without being a very talented driver. And Sr. certainly didn't spend his entire career in inferior equipment. Regardless, Sr. could not have made those stats without being a great driver, as well. Give credit to both where credit is due.

Realistically, there is no answer to the "who's best" question, in my opinion. It's far too subjective, and it's comparing apples to oranges.

I agree.........it also helps to have incredible luck, which he has had PLENTY of in his career, including this season.
