Because the chase has become somewhat of a snooze fest with most of the drivers out of the running, here is the modified Mayberry Cup point standings.
If a chaser wins the race, they get 15 points.
Rest of points are given based on finishing order among chasers:
1 = 12 pt (unless they also win race, then they get 15 pt)
2 = 10 pt
3 = 9 pt
4 = 8 pt
5 = 7 pt
6 = 6 pt
7 = 5 pt
8 = 4 pt
9 = 3 pt
10 = 2 pt
11 = 1 pt
12 = 0 pt

With that point system, here are the current standings:

1. J Gordon = 56 pt
2. C Bowyer = 49 pt
3. J Johnson = 35 pt
4. C Edwards = 34 pt
5. T Stewart = 31 pt
6. Ky Busch = 29 pt
7. J Burton = 22 pt
8. D Hamlin = 21 pt
9. Ku Busch = 19 pt
10. M Truex = 19 pt
11. K Harvick = 18 pt
12. M Kenseth = 14 pt

Still looks like it's Gordons to lose because of the nice bonus for winning two races (earned 6 points). Bowyer is higher than Johnson because of his win at New Hampshire and JJ has yet to earn a win in the chase.

I'll update this after each week and we can compare it to the actual points battle.
