loco, it's all the Xanax they've been taking since they found out Gordon and Jr. are going to be team mates. They're too happy and too sleepy to throw the beer cans far enough to hit the track. Seriously, though, I wonder if some of those type of things will happen less because they are on the same team now. Kind of like, if they throw stuff at JG and JJ, even Mears, it's like throwing stuff at Jr. by proxy. You've heard of Munchausen by Proxy? (I slaughtered the spelling, I'm sure). This is Beerthrowin' by Proxy.

You know that as far as most Gordon fans are concerned, it's got to be Jr fans throwing the stuff. No way in their eyes would another drivers fan throw anything or even a non driver fan who just doesn't like Gordon.
But personally I don't see the reason for throwing anything at any driver.

While I don't think there's anything funny about throwing stuff, I do get a chuckle about the Jr. and Gordon fan's absolute passion about their driver's, more so, at least it seems, than fans of most other drivers. Some (not all) get so spun up about everything that they lose their sense of humor entirely. So no more levity attempts with the Red Army or the Rainbow Warriors! Let 'em duke it out! (It's all in fun, don't verbally run over me here!) I like them both so I gues that makes me bi-polar or schizophrenic. Throw the fact that I can tolerate Stewart and Johnson in there and I guess I also have Multiple Personality Disorder. But I can't tolerate the fanatisism that causes the can throwing, no matter who their favorite driver is. They need to stuff those can's till it hits their tonsils.

Hey Space are you college eddicated? We talked about that in Psych last week. Lots of fun stuff can be discovered when learning how the head works. Some kid is working on a paper and coming up with a new diagnosis just for the fans that throw beer cans at Gordon. I cant wait to hear her presentation. Of course since learning she is a follower of racing I have been devoting more time to talking and sitting next to her in class. I got to use my "secret weapon" (knowing David Gilliland) and now have her eating out of my hand. I hope she's not the kind that bites! LOL

Keep an open mind, Thunder, biting is not always necessarily a bad thing.

Re: beer cans at gordon

I just thought it was always funny when they threw beer cans ect. I mean not funny in a ha ha sense! That they were throwing anything because it is dangerous. It's just funny in the sense that people care so much or are so mad at a driver that they feel the need to throw something. I mean it's just a car race for godsakes! In fact in my whole life I have never been so upset at someone that I wanted to throw a beer can at them!!! And these were people I knew.
It's also funny on these forums when people say they hate this driver or that driver... Do these people even personally know any of these drivers?
You can say I don't care for Jeff Gordon or Jr. for various reasons but I don't hate them for godsakes.
It's all pretty funny.... And the reason I said the red army was because last time it happened Jr. had to make a statement about his fans thats all.

Re: beer cans at gordon

Since I was their I will tell you. In the new rule for fans at Talladega it mentions that now and also before the race went on the air the president of Talladega on the microphone and said no throwing of cans or bottles-did the little spill! LOL!
