| Re: 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule the only reason i can say i dont mind stadiums with company names is because it reminds me the company put up a huge amount of money for it and the taxpayers didnt pay nearly as much ......... i cant stand when owners make taxpayers foot the bill ............ sorry but i would much rather have Gillette Stadium then have taxes raised

This came up in Philly when the new baseball park was built. It ended up being "Citizens Bank Park" However, they called the outfield area where all the eateries are, and where the mini museum ended up, "Ashburn Alley". Named after a Hall of Fame Announcer, and former player, Richie Ashburn. I just wish we could find a sensible compromise between tradition and money considerations in all cases. I think most of us are happy with the baseball solution. The bank got the parks name, but we also honored the past. |

| Re: 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Schedule To me as well. I was lucky to get to the 600 in 1999, and they were still clearing out the Charlotte Motor Speedway hats and shirts! I got a very nice hat, which I will always keep in a nice, safe place! |

I just think the Basball park found a great way to do both, and has gotten a lot of good will from it! I hope that becomes a traditon. There is room for profit and tradition. And for keeping the goverments paws out of my pocket! |
