Post-Race Antics Banned Next Year?

My mother told me that she read an article in the local paper stating that post-race antics by the winning drivers will be banned next year. No more Carl Edwards back flips, no more Tony Stewart climbing the fence, no more burnouts.

Anyone heard of this?

Well that kinda sux. Carl's backflips are always fun to watch. And who doesn't like seeing a fat boy climb a fence?

Geez, I hope not!! What a stupid rule if it does go into effect. Part of the fun is watching the driver celebrate.

Re: Post-Race Antics Banned Next Year?

It they ban the post race antic's you can bet its because they are not getting to victory lane fast enough for tv. It takes too much time if they have to show the celebration before victory lane, break for commercials & then come back to show the driver getting out of the car. They will probably just stop showing the back flip or whatever & go straight to commercials

If it's even true I don't think it has anything to do with TV. The longer they are on the more commercials we see, and that my friends is what the bottom line is all about.

He's just returning the favor since Goddell called Brian for advice about those bad little cheerleaders on the sidelines.

Well than maybe they should cut the pre-race crap, start the races earlier, and take the time after the race, since that is where the stories come from anyway!

Just my idea, I could be wrong!

BTW, crappy idea. Isn't it bad enough that when the finally get there, they ALL do the following.

Stand on the window sill

Pump a fist,

Spray a beverage

Spout out sponsors names

Then they are done. The only sign of individuality is thier celebrations. Some burn out, some take the flag for a lap, some backflip, some climb fences.

No wonder I watch more and more NHRA, and am less and less interested in NA$CAR every year.

Re: Post-Race Antics Banned Next Year?

I agree. I don't need to see Brooks and Dunn sing the National Anthem.

They could shorten the races a bit too. Junior's on to something there.

I love watching the celebrations as well, but as soon as Edwards splits his head open or Stewart falls from the fence, it will be a black eye on the sport. I think they should stay in their cars until victory lane for safety sake. Some nut-job will launch a bottle at one of the winners and it'll all end.....it's just a matter of time.

I don't want NASCAR to turn into the NFL with the antics of T.O. and Chad Johnson. I hate that crap. It's okay to show emotion, but to plan it out like Chad Johnson is doing is ridiculous.

That's exactly what I was thinking - NASCAR's mimicking the NFL with this "no celebrations" rule. Shame if it happens.

Good and about time, I hate WWF and this seems to be where nascar is going. Nascar says there all about safety, where is safe climbing a 30 foot fence or back flipping off the roof of a car.

Its only a matter of time and nascar will be replaced by a different racing organization. To many owners and drivers and complaining about nascars make believe rule book and there WWF format

If there were an "ultimate control freak" top 10 list, BF would be No. 1.
