Busch - Stewart - Busch

I hope Kurt Busch hasn't caused any bad blood between Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart.

You Know, when Tony blew a tire cause he didn't pit and fix his fender, Kurt ran into the back of Tony, and Tony lost control of car causing that big accident.

Tony really seemed to be beating himself up over that whole thing. Tony Stewart really needs to assign the blame where it belongs, on the shoulders of his crew chief, Denny Hamlin but mostly on Kurt Busch.

I don't know... he seemed really p*ssed...

after all, he did have his hand out signaling he was trying to get outta the groove .. guess Kurt was just going too fast to read the hand signals...

maybe if Kyle takes him some donuts or something...

I just hope Tony can handle wildman Kyle Busch. Between Kyle and Denny he'll have his hands full.

What's that thing on Kyle's chin anyway?

Re: Busch - Stewart - Busch

I think Smoke can handle himself just fine. He is one guy I would not want mad at me. I'm not a Kurt Busch fan at all, but that stuff happens so fast.

Tony did the same thing to the guy in from of him earlier in the race. I think Tony was just frustrated about the DNF. Think about it. He went from potentially winning the race in the rain delay to a DNF.

If that races wasn't a Chase Race, they would've called it. I'm a Stewart fan, but I'm glad they didn't call it because everyone would've had a BIRD if they did with all of the drivers that were down a lap and in the Chase.

I think that JD, is the one with his hands full, if he can keep them all three under reins next year, they'll be a force to be wrecked with.

maybe the new BAD BOYS TEAM.

I wonder how "bad" those big talkers would be without a very big race car doing the talking for them. I think they're all full of hot air and full of themselves. But I like that name the "Bad Boys" team. That'd be a great marketing angle if it already isn't.

Here's the problem I have with this. When Tony ran into Truex he was runnin right on top of him when the brakes wer applied for the wreck in front. Kurt however had distance between him and Tony. Think I'm wrong. The replay from the camera on the back of Stewarts car shows Tony Raines( who was on top of Stewart) dodge Tony just fine, and then Kurt comes blasting up and plows Tony. I'm not big on Tony, that's what it looked like to me.

some other facts to go with yours helps clarify what happened with Kurt:
  1. Stewart was slowing and dropping back in the field for perhaps 15 seconds or so when Raines, a slower car, came up behind him
  2. Stewart put his hand out the window letting Raines know he was slowing and which side to pass on .. Raines saw it and took evasive action going low
  3. Kurt, in a much faster car, was closing rapidly and his view of Stewart's hand was blocked by Raines car .. when Raines moved low, Kurt reacted and stayed high to go around
  4. by the time Kurt saw Stewart's car was slowing drastically it was too late to take evasive action .. he hit the brakes, hoping (like we all do) to be able to stop in time and he almost did...
  5. Stewart was already "wrecked", he was just trying to minimize the damage and, thru sheer driving skill was able to maintain position and attitude for that split second before Kurt contacted him
remember, Kurt had seen Stewart's tire rub smoke (didn't everybody?) and knew approximately where he was so it's easy to figure he thought the tire finally blew, which it did, and experience told him Stewart would spin and either go up the track or down the track so his best option was to go straight at Stewart instead of trying to guess where he was gonna be... in retrospect, not the best choice, but hindsight is always 20-20.

Re: Busch - Stewart - Busch

I don't know. I watched the replay several times and it looked to me like Stewart was off of Martin Truex Jr and was pacing him, the car to Stewart's left or the inside accelerated and then so did Tony which put him into the back of Truex. Stewart only had to drive around the mess after that.

Gotta love that Truex though. I heard he was going to have his car's body attached with velcro for the next race so that his crew can just pull the pieces off.

I wonder if he actually won the race with no hood or fenders or bumper what the NASCAR officials would have to inspect after the race?
