| Hendrick VP defends team against NASCAR officials Hendrick Motorsports vice president Doug Duchardt offered a strenuous defense against the events of the previous day's Busch Series race, after which NASCAR officials uncovered alleged irregularities in the intake manifold of winning driver Kyle Busch's car. Duchardt said the manifold in question had been expressly approved by NASCAR officials and that he could prove it various stamps and serial numbers. "NASCAR took 10 manifolds last week from teams at Dover for their use as they look at rules for next year," he said. "They had a dimensional sister to the manifold that they took and had it at the NASCAR tech center for two days and looked at it. At no time have we been told that there was an issue with it. -- Gaston Gazette Sports: Notebook: Bump from Junior opens Kyle's wounds |

| Re: Hendrick VP defends team against NASCAR officials What's with this NASCAR? They really seem to have this "which way is the wind blowing today" philosophy to the rule book. Rule Book! What Rule Book? The NASCAR Officials, who ever they are, have to be lawyers! Word the rules so everything is gray enough for their interpretation only. Tony gets fined for swearing, Tony doesn't get fined for swearing. Crew Chief gets fined $100,000 and suspended for 6 races because the car is a fraction of an inch off but then a driver can pile drive his vehicle into another car during the race and nothing happens to him. Fined: Driver for not attending a post race interview. Not Fined: Driver telling media to "get the ..... away from me!" Psychologist would say that these type of inconsistencies in child rearing will produce a mal-adjusted child. In racing, we call it NASCAR
