Re: NASCAR team opening NY office to sell sponsorships

good move for several reasons

now they have joined hundreds, no, thousands of other corps who have offices in NYC allowing more convenient access to the money sources (not all the money is represented in NYC, but a major portion is.) this allows meetings with potential sponsors', as well as current sponsors', executives without one or the other having to invest time and money in excess travel.

they'll have a place other than a hotel to conduct business with current & potential sponsors during the big awards blowout in NYC.

it's moved them from "backwoods" to "modern" in some people's mind, if for no other reason than the prestige factor.

The first?!

Why aren't there more teams with offices in NYC?

Just from a business exposure standpoint.

Breaking out of the mold that NASCAR has been in for the past 50 plus years isn't easy. remember that racing has its origins in the south and movin' on up to the big city goes aganst the grain of all that has ever been.

Talk about a slow growth lol.

Even in the past few of years when NASCAR has been HUGE (I'm talking from a sports fan who rarely watches/follows the sport).

Perhaps it's not the case but IMO, New York is an untapped market when it comes to teams and drivers.
