Well, I have to say I like the 18 rule - a driver should have to legally be an adult to race in the Busch or Nextel series.

18 makes you a legal adult? Can't drink/buy alcohol.

I think they should let him in. If you turn 18 during the season, I don't see an issue with that.

I think they shoul have a "MAXIMUM" age rule. Nobody over the age of thirty. Might help with the "Wackers"

No, but you can vote, get drafted, can no longer be claimed on your parents taxes, have to get your own insurance and can be held legally responsible if you commit a crime. So basically, you can do everything BUT buy alcohol. Which would be a very good topic for another time, in another forum.

Hmm, that's a great idea. Turn it into a "junior" circuit by making an 18-30 rule. I like it!

I really think letting driver's move up at too young an age is just a big, big mistake. It's not just about driving ability, it's about maturity and the ability to handle some very serious pressure. (I can think of a few Cup drivers in their 30's who shouldn't have moved up! ) I'm sure there are some who can handle it, but unfortunately, the rule must apply to all (supposedly). I say err on the side of caution.

I say if it's been a rule all this time, leave it alone. Don't see a reason to change the rule for this one kid. Let him wait the same as everyone before him did.

leave the rule at 18, giving high school kids the option of running a national touring series while still in high school is not right. let them run the local regional series until they graduate.

you can't keep pick the little guy out of the starter series for the big leagues.

I think there should be a rules about X mount of races in X amount of series. there should be a minium of 2 years busch or truck or 1 (seprate)year of each before entering cup

Exactly. Let him run 1 year in a truck with 800hp and then the next against better drivers. That should at least be the minimum. But then you got to think that what if the kid has tremendous talent but no open truck rides?

The same as anyone else looking for a job within a specific area. If it doesn't exist then you need to either prove that you are capable of going higher up the ladder .... or go lower and wait your turn.
