| Re: Chase Format no. as long as the fastest don't race, as long as there's a "Chosen" to ensure the "haves" get on TV, i.e., in the race and as long as the Chosen of the Chosen (Chase) exclude anyone else from a chance at the trophy, it's not fair. the [sponsor's name here] Cup Chase reminds be of a Harlem Globetrotters game .. the Washington Generals (or whoever the other team is) are at the game so the Globetrotter players have someone to bounce the ball off and make look foolish .. they're not there to provide any sort of competition.

fair and equitable way - Ah yes, the "warm and fuzzy" crap. OK, you beat the livin' snot out of me. Square up and equal. Now "we" are going to hamstring you. Let's say - oh well - handcuff your right wrist to your left ankle, behind your back. Blindfold for you completes the "equity picture". Put a roller skate on your right foot, you stand on a small ice patch, I get a ball bat, and the winner is the chumpion (spelled as intended). Gordon has won the 2007 Cup. We are now going through an excercise to please the idiots. They will be easily identifiable. Look for - "my guy won the Cup last year (2007)". A true athletic supporter. Oh, sorry. To be clear - we voted "no". |

Not hard to do we freely, openly, and repeatedly admit - but, ya lost me. Don't explain. Better someone else does. More firmly confirms my constant state of "lostdom". |

TRANSLATION: the "YES" folks haven't presented their case, just voted and left the bldg... so us "NO" folks can only argue with ourselves .. that's no fun. |

| Re: Chase Format Right, wrong or what does it really matter? At the start of the year everyone knows the cup point champ rules for said year. They all start at zero and know leading at 26 races is not what it is about or what wins the cup for that year.Don't like, don't watch!Very simple really. |

at 4:30PM on Sept 24 there were 6 votes. there were 2 "YES" votes at that time. now, at 11:15PM on Sept 24 there were 9 votes. there are 3 "YES" votes now. and I still see no replies stating they voted "YES" .. what's your point? BTW: this isn't "my" poll. LSC started it. Last edited by Racer Duck : 09-24-2007 at 11:16 PM. Reason: spelling |

you are going around in circles (I'll not ask: clockwise or counterclockwise?) but you still haven't answered any of my questions. is it because you don't want to or because you enjoy this stupid game you're trying to play with me? |

so, if I correctly understand your reasoning behind your vote, the Chase format is fair and equitable because everyone knew in advance the scoring system. I disagree, because knowing what the system is beforehand has nothing to do with whether the system is fair nor whether every team gets an equal shot at the championship. for instance, the 3 cars at MWR never had a shot at it because they started from last and nothing in the system put them on an even playing field with the 3 cars at RCR which started near the front. MWR would have had to out perform RCR just to be even with them; how is that fair or equitable? I would submit that had the seeding system inverted the order, it would have been much more fair and equitable. |
