| Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son DOVER, Del. -- Robert Yates is preparing to "pass the torch" to his son at the end of the season as he steps down as president of Yates Racing, but what exactly is Doug inheriting? If you look at it from a glass half-full or glass half-empty standpoint, you wind up with two very different conclusions. First, the positives. Doug Yates will have the benefit of a strong working relationship with Jack Roush's operation, a solid core of dedicated employees, two drivers just reaching their primes and guaranteed starting spots for both cars for the first five races of the 2008 season, if they remain in the top 35 for the rest of the year. It's a chance to start his own operation with a clean slate. http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/head...ent/index.html

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son I agree but he has not seem to know what to do for quite awhile.Flip flop, here there,no let's do this.Down hill for the teams is the way as I see it. |

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son I think it is good that Robert is stepping down, but what a mess he has left Doug to try and get straight. I hope with the help from Roush, Doug can turn things around. I just read that the 28 is gonna be back next year, so that is just that more pressure that the 28 especially needs to run well cause that is the trademark car of RYR.

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son I feel bad for Robert... he let the sport pass him by. He should have started a third team. Well, I fear this to be the beginning of the end. I hope my feelin is wrong. |

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son It is hard to start a third team when you cant keep sponsors on the other 2 cars due to the poor performances. |

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son Hopefully Doug can get the team turned back around. If Kvapil can do about as good in the car as he is in the truck this year, they may stand a decent chance. I think Robert did about the same thing that Richard Petty did, just let the technology pass him by. |

| Re: Yates Looking Forward To Passing Team To His Son I agree 100%.I have read where owners say for every one year you fall behind in tech it takes around three years to catch up. |
