| ESPN; the epitome of bad coverage Just when I thought that I couldn't find anything else to fault ESPN/ESPN Jr./ABC/Disney' s race coverage for, I reralized that I was mistaken. I tried to watch qualifications yesterday. Really bad decision! I ended up following in on the net (the nascar.com pylon thingee) with commentary by MRN. Why?, you ask. Because I like to follow the scroll telling where each car has qualified. Hint, don't try this with Dr. Jerry and Rusty; it's an effort in futility. They scroll about five or six names then change cameras or cut to the booth for some award-winning commentary. They had a position graphic at the bottom of the screen but that was confusing and kind of hard to read. I had really high hopes for ESPN when I heard they were coming back; I was remember the days of Dr. Jerry, Bob Jenkins and that crew. Boy, was I wrong! From qualifying to pre-race to race coverage to post race, this bunch makes TNT coverage look good!!?? All TNT has going for it is abunch of over-paid, hairdo'd media hacks promoting themselves! Good TV coverage, where arth thou?

If the networks ever look at opinion poles they could most certainly improve their productions.

Re: ESPN; the epitome of bad coverage They don't even care about the first lap. The first race they did, Gordon started on the pole and didn't even lead the first lap and they never showed why. Then Ragan has the best run of his career finishing 3rd and because he's not even in the chase they don't talk to him. It's crap like that, that makes you not want to watch it. And now with the chase, anybody not in the chase won't be recognized or be shown unless a chase driver is passing them.

Re: ESPN; the epitome of bad coverage The coverage on ESPN is delayed about 5 minutes. You can go to NASCAR.com and watch the leaderboard and get the results much faster and I suspect that is even delayed.

Re: ESPN; the epitome of bad coverage Not the way we want to see it. They entertain the now crowd with what they want to see ... obviously not the action.

Re: ESPN; the epitome of bad coverage In all honesty I think each network has positive points and some more than others. I'm sure somewhere along the way we've discussed it many times over. Like anything else in life we'll never be happy with any one provider and even the one we like best has bad points. (boogity)
