Re: Jr and the #88 Pepsi/National Guard car

anyone see jr. on track side lastnight, he said he didn't know if people were just telling him what he wanted to hear, but feedback was good.

that tells me that they've had a pretty good amount of negitive feedback.and are now trying to turn the opinion with the media power

You lost me. How does good feedback to Jr. lead you to believe that there's a good amount of negative feedback, and "they" are now trying to turn the opinion with the media power? Frankly, the media cannot manage this one. The car(s) is ugly. That's not going to change.

I'm confused. More coffee, please! Or maybe a Mountain Dew! Has twice the jolt of coffee! With the caffeine and the sugar ... yeehaa!

Missing something ... again ...

How are they going to determine which car, the AMP car or the National Guard car, will run each race? I know the only difference is the paint scheme.

Did one sponsor put up more $$ and will run more races than the other?

Don't know for sure but I'd guess the fattest wallet talks the loudest.

Since Pepsi has 2 products on the car and the National Guard has one and all three seem to be getting equal billing, I suspect Pepsi is putting up more than half of the money and the Guard less than half.

"the tale of the tape" will be which is primary for the "major" races: Daytona 500, World 600, Brickyard 400, etc.. (I'm sure it's explicitly spelled out in their contracts - would be surprised if it weren't.)

Dew is on both cars, but not on the hood of either. That's still a pretty big sponsorship by Pepsi. I think the rear quarter panel is the most expensive real estate after the hood. I could be wrong. I'm curious to see who runs Daytona, AMP or National Guard. And as you stated, I'm sure it's all spelled out in their contracts.

I guess it doesn't really matter. It's still Jr. I'm just not familiar with these two-major-sponsorship rides.

One thing I do agree with Jr. on is that I like the white. I liked his Elvis car a few weeks ago.
