| Red Bull could be ready to bolt from Toyota? As the NASCAR Nextel Cup Chase for the Championship moves to the Monster Mile at Dover International Speedway Sunday there are negotiations taking place that seem to have slipped under the radar of most garage watchers. Sun Media has been told that Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has been in discussions to switch manufacturers from Toyota next year. Those in the know say that Mateschitz has been deeply disappointed about the results of both the No. 83 and No. 84 Red Bull Toyotas in the team's inaugural Cup season. And he is not pointing the finger at either A.J. Allmendinger or Brian Vickers. The general feeling among team members is that Toyota has not stepped up with the kind of technological and engineering support that the team expected when it signed on with the Japanese auto giant. -- Edmonton Sun edmontonsun.com - Sports - Relationship on the rocks |

| Re: Red Bull could be ready to bolt from Toyota? Sounds like they might have expected to be running up front every week and winning some right from the start. If so, I think maybe their expectations were alittle high, considering they are a new manufacture and team and all. |

| Re: Red Bull could be ready to bolt from Toyota? I'd like to see them do it, for the other mfg'ers sake (another Toyota-based team they wouldn't have to worry about), but I think it'd be a mistake. If they go with GM, as reported, they'd be even further down the GM food chain than Gibbs was! I don't think Red Bull wants the impression that they're in NASCAR just to be a field-filler. I think their best chance of becoming a weekly contender is with Toyota. But, I could be wrong...
