Talking Tony Stewart Looks Forward to New Season!

Yeah we all know Joe Gibbs will be moving to Toyota next year, but for me the most anticipated change in the Joe Gibbs racing is the line-up. The hot headed Tony Stewart teamed with those 2 young hot commodities Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch!

I can just see on their days off, Kyle and Denny down in the basement playing video NASCAR on their X-Box while Tony is alone by himself at some spaghetti house.

I see Kyle is sporting a new look now. Got some hair growing on that chin.
Look out Tony! Kyle's coming to town!

Stay Tuned Next year for some interesting racing!

--

I actually hate to see Kyle leave HMS because he's such a great racer but I think he'll feel more at home with Stewart & Hamlin.

Re: Tony Stewart Looks Forward to New Season!

I see Stewart has backed off on his next contract, citing that "He wants to concentrate on winning this years Cup."

I still believe, in the bottom of my cynical little heart, that in the off-season Tony will announce that he will remain at JGR on a part time basis. He will cite that he wants to devote his time to more enjoyable past times, such as running his WoO and USAC teams, running his growing collection of short tracks, and running some IRL races and winning the most important auto race in the world, the Indy 500.

My gut feeling is that the chances are around 40% that something along these lines will happen.

You may be right Bob, but I think Tony is a Title Junkie and will continue to pursue more of them.

I think that, besides what I personally think, we can safely assume that would be Stewart's point of view.

But, I could be wrong, too.

Kyle needs to shave that little piece of hair on his chin that is so childish! Only hair that is probably growing on his face! Hey that reminds me I haven't seen his girlfriend lately at the track! Denny can definatly see him playing video games with Kyle two kiddies playing together! LOL!

I will be with Tony at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Indianapolis! Their is one close to Indianapolis Motor Speedway! LOL!

By the way Bob Tony will be with JGR next year.

I'm sure he will. However, 2009, full time, might be another story.

Here is my reasoning: Tony has all the money and all the toys he wants. To say that he is secure for life, based ONLY on his winnings from NASCAR, might be the understatement of the decade.

Tony's first love is racing open wheel. If this weren't so, he'd have dumped his WoO and USAC teams years ago. I believe that, to Tony, NASCAR is only a way to a means. He's won one of NASCAR's two most prestigious races, the Brickyard 400. The second most prestigious race in NASCAR is, obviously, the Daytona 500 but, in my mind, I'm not sure winning that race, just for the sake of honour, is a major priority to Stewart.

Tony grew up in Indiana and his early aspirations were to be an Indy winner. I think that he still considers the Brickyard 400 a secondary honour to winning the Indy 500. Now, he's at the upper levels of the age where he can legitimately do so. He now has the money, the ability and the notoriety to get a competitive IRL ride at Indy.

Add to all this speculation the absolute fact that Tony has never made it a secret that he holds the powers-that-be at NA$CAR headquarters not in the highest esteem. In fact, I think he holds them below the general motor sports media and he has very few positive things to say about the media!

Put all this together, add in the fact that his current contract ends next season and he is dragging his heels as to renewing it and...

It is my personal belief that Tony is looking forward to next season because it might be his last full time connection to NASCAR. I think that there is a 30-40% chance that I'm close to being right. I remember people poo-pooing me heartily when I predicted last December that Junior would leave DEI. Remember that one?

But, as always, I could very well be totally off base.

He's been cultivating that peach fuzz for a couple months now. If you look real close you can almost see it. I may have more hair growing on the bottom of my feet than he has on his face !!!

Re: Tony Stewart Looks Forward to New Season!

Tony's current contract is until end of season 2009, so he will at least race two more full season's at Gibbs.

I think he is waiting to see how Toyota does before extending his contract. I've heard Zippy also has not extended his either. I could see both of them jumping ship together and end up a RCR back in a Chevy.

That would be hell for Hendrick and the rest. He would bring an almost immediate impact to RCR.

My bet is that RCR will have four teams before then
