When Toyota entered the Cup series this year, executives said instant victories were not expected. Starting the 2008 season with a win in the Daytona 500 is a much more realistic goal since the addition of Joe Gibbs Racing. "Everybody's got the expectation that winning the Daytona 500 is something that's within our grasp at this point in time, or that point in time," said Jim Aust, President and CEO of Toyota Racing Development. "Going in without that expectation would be below what we would be all about. With Gibbs running Toyota's there will be three cars in the top 35 guaranteeing they get into the races. I don't have the data but I'm sure there were alot of Toyotas missing races much of the season because of this rule.

I think they have a good chance of winning in '08 but they have about a 3 in 43 chance of winning in my opinion so would not put my mortage money on them.
