I"d have to vote for Gilliland on that one there Lil. I got an email from his dad this morning and after winning the late model race at Meridian Idaho on Saturday night he was pretty happy. He will race again on the 22nd, also at Meridian. I extended an invite for him to drive my car next year if he comes this way over the mountains.

I don't care for Gilliland. I remember when he raced in ARCA and my exs nephew raced in ARCA too at that time. Just winning one race Gilliland gets a ride in Nextel, talk about the luck! I didn't think he was that good but in 2 years maybe he will show more potential. I love late model racing! I like watching that at Eldora Speedway.

Now you've hit a nerve Lil. He didn't luck into anything. He worked damn hard to get there. David has a lot of talent and has shown he belongs where he is. Many teams were looking at him prior to the BUSCH win. He gets to live the dream we all have but so few ever get to see. I've known him since he was 12 years old, and even then he knew where he wanted to go. NOBODY gets to the CUP level with out talent or hard work.

I would amend that to say with some signs of talent and hard work. In Davids case he has the talent. I think he still has a piece to go, but there is promise there as long as Doug is willin to stay with him. I hope the best for him, and hopefully Yates will get a driver in there he can bank off of and learn more.

Boy how I want to disagree with you but in my heart I know you're right. All to often we look at the drivers who are at the bottom of the point standings and wonder just how they got to where they are. When you compare the top 10 (12) against the rest they naturally look of lesser quality but the fact remains that they didn't get into cup because they were good taxi cab drivers. All to often I feel as though I could do better than Michael Waltrip, but in reality probably not .... but ya never know.

I never get mad at my friends or my cats. This forum is the only entertainment I have in the daily grind of life. Almost like a prescription of good stuff from the doc. If something dont go well out in the shop I drop things and take a break. I wind up here for a laugh and then go back to dirty words in Japanese while working on these Honda's and Yota's.

Ok had to make sure we were still ok! I used to work for a company two years ago and I had to go to Honda in Marysville and East Liberty and do car inspections. Sometimes had to work 15 hour days!

I 'd like to think that too, but they're running those funny cars with the wing this time, so I'm not so sure.
