Is NASCAR rigged?

seriously, has it become the WWE?

this has been brought up before i know ........ cautions for phantom debris anyone?

my feelings on this are mixed .... yes there may have been/may still be curious cautions ....... but what other evidence may there be?

i was sitting here this morning thinking (odd i know, many of you believe i never think before i type) ...... and i have come up with a good defense for NASCAR

if indeed their sport is rigged, why isnt Jr. in the chase? .... seems that would be in the sports best interest ....... he is one of the top 5 stars without doubt ..... seems if they could put him there by unsavory means they would

now i know, some of you may read this and be wanting to request that i hold my horses ..... Jr can still make the chase with a miracle at Richmond ...... maybe if that happens it will bolster the case that NASCAR is indeed rigged

oo many if's and what's to be rigged, but guided yes by all means I believe so. and this goes way back.

in 84(?),wasn't petty's 200th win with ronald reagan there, he had an over sized engine, how did that get through inspection ????

Personally I don't think NASCAR rigs the finishes of the races, in regards to who wins, the finishing order, etc., etc. Even as arrogant as the administrative side of NASCAR is, they realize that predetermining the winners, by design, would have fans leaving as quickly as illegal aliens leaving a Home Depot parking lot when INS officials drive in.

However, there is no doubt in my mind that NASCAR rigs the competition factor of its racing.
Allowing mega teams to push out single-car teams,
Creating a Playoff system,
Creating the Chosen 35 Rule,
Phantom debris cautions (however, since Stewart came out publicly with this, these "cautions" have decreased drastically - THANK YOU Tony!,
The wrong-headed Lucky Dawg Rule,
Increasing the number in the Playoff to twelve,
Selective enforcement of rule infractions,
Making decisions affecting competition based on the desires of TV and the sponsors.

All of the above, IMNSVHO ,constitute "rigging," and NASCAR does so with impunity.

Rigged in the respect that NASCAR itself creates a pathway for the results they'd like to see. The chase was their idea, expanding the number of teams in the chase .....etc.

All of these ideas were done with specific goals in mind. No guarantee they would get those exact results but the rain barrel was tipped in their direction.

It would be impossible to guarantee predetermined results, but like others have pointed out, NASCAR sure likes to gently nudge towards favorable (read: profitable, popular) outcomes.

I believe that the "phantom debris" issue is dead and gone now. Whenever there is a caution now they always show what it is on the track that created it.

i truly appreciate and accept the apology ........ for the record i dont buy it either (like i said, if it were true Jr would be in the chase) ..... just figured it would make a good discussion
