Looks like we may have to dig a big hole for the bunch of us that don't like it! We will need a list of provisions!

You have me on your side. The Playoffs is just another way for NASCAR to manufacture artificially close points finishes.

It'll never go away, or at least not for a long time. Reason:
(1) It gives NA$CAR the drama it is looking for
(2) It gives the sports hacks something to romance in the media
(3) A significant number of fans have followed NASCAR for only a few years and have little history of how things used to be to draw upon. Most are stick&ball retreads and since there are playoffs in stick&ball, it's only natural that major league stock car racing has them.

The sad thing is how catching it is. NHRA now has its version of the Playoffs and even the most honorable of sports, is currently in the middle of a playoff tournaments.

The Serenity Prayer advised us to
Grant me the power to accept the things I can not change,
The will to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

One bit of wisdom I've gained is that the Playoffs is one thing we'll never see changed significantly.
