Toyota expanding NASCAR operations

Toyota's NASCAR operations in North Carolina are to move into a new 33,000-square foot facility being built near Salisbury. Toyota plans to break ground in the next two weeks or so, and White said he hopes to start moving everybody in by next summer. "We don't own our own home," White said. "This new place will be our home. And it will be more productive for us, because we'll have all our own stuff." -- Winston-Salem Journal

folks gotta have their own stuff or they can't do what they do best.

for those who are wondering, Salisbury is about 20 miles east of Mooresville (where most of the teams are located) and about 15 miles NE of Lowes Motor Speedway.

'What's mine is mine... an what's yours is mine'.... 'Keep your friends close, and your enemy's closer....'

Rubbish!!! Despite what others might think, Toyota isnt about dominance, its about 'recognition'....

Toyota just want to be 'one of the boys'.....

US car manufacturers should take solice from Toyota playing in their space. They wont 'sell their grandmothers' for a slice of the advertising revenue....

As they say 'thanks for having us'....

As I work with a Japanese company, I understand their mind set. Yes, they want to succeed, but they will exploit your decadent weaknesses, as opposed to declaring a willingnes for a 'straight up fight'....

They enter everything as the 'underdog'.... they dont talk, they listen....

They take time.... yes, time..... they will organize and influence on the basis of their partners failure...

Watch out... the 'Toyota worm will turn"....

Makes a lot of sense to me (at the risk of sound xenophobic).
