Angry NASCAR Primetime

The NASCAR Primetime which aired 8/29/07, portrayed the NASCAR fan as a bunch of drunken redneck yahoos. Shown were a bunch of shirtless fat guys getting drunk on beer, women showing their boobies off during a pre-race night of drunken debauchary, and fans stating that NASCAR racing is an 'merican sport which shouldn't have a bunch of foreigners in it.

Then we get to watch Johnny Seuter's blonde bombshell girlfriend nagging at him for getting lost in the in-field while trying to drive to his bus.

On the flip side we have JPM's loving and doting wife taking care of the kids and cheering Juan on during the race.

IMHO this show just depicts the NASCAR fan in the worst possible light, they show a depressed Mark Martin, John Seuter - not one of the best of NASCAR racers, and again with the accolades for JPM.

NASCAR IMAX and the ESPN Nascar documentary blows NASCAR Primetime out of the water.

Very, very true. After the first two episodes, I decided not to watch any more, but something ... like a train wreck ... caused me to tune in last night.

There are many, many families at the track. Though they portrayed a racing event as equal to Mardi Gras without the beads. Yes, some people are drunk and stupid, but most are well behaved. I don't know about other tracks, but Loudon promotes a "family" environment. You'll get your a$$ kicked off the grounds if you get out of line. Of course, they focused on the drunk and obnoxious. How entertaining would it be to focus on folks just hanging around the camground cooking up some good food, playing games, and just spending time with friends? Na ... not news-worthy enough I guess.

I still for the life of me don't get this ABC series at all!

I have been to Talladega. It is the party capitol of Nascar. Not everyone parties, I didn't. First thing we seen the first time there was a sign saying "SHOW US YOUR T*TS..." They brought in the Alabama Mobile Police Unit.

Re: NASCAR Primetime

I really only watched a little of that show last night, The Phillies were on, and what I saw I didn't care for.

Re: NASCAR Primetime

I watched the first episode and that was enough. But I gotta tell ya, Pocono sure doesn't promote the family atmosphere no matter what they say. Lot's of nice folks there, but lot's of the kind portrayed on that stupid TV program. And the biggest partier's? Security. Yessir, drunk off their a$$e$ when we had to go find them in the middle of the night because some moron wouldn't turn off his generator at 2:30 a.m.. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed it. So, unfortunately, that program isn't 100% incorrect. I'd like it to be, but it's not.

I watched part of the first one and that was enough for me. Haven't watched anymore.

I'm just guessing that the NASCAR program was bad, not the Phillies.
