Bristol-ESPN-COT

name 3 things that SUCK..!!!!!!!Instead of the Bristol Bash it was the Bristol Bore they really screwed it up,,,if i were a ticket holder for the next few years ,i would be pissed..!!!!!..i turned it off at lap 204.!!!..it used to be the best race to watch,,not anymore it's like watching any other short track,,,,,,,ESPN...announcers are awfull,!!! Rusty being the worst..!!!..last but not least,,the car of tomorrow,,look like they were going 40 mph on the straightaway at Bristol.?!!!!!!,,yes guys keep changing stuff,,and it's going to suck even more.....my 2 cents

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

I'll be the outspoken devils advocate. I enjoyed the race because it wasn't a demolition derby. The team owners and sponsors probably breathed a sigh of relief also when they realized the expenses would go down with the redesigned track and car. I'd much rather see them race than play crash & pass. You don't need to be a good driver or team to nail someone in the bumper and create a wreck. It does however take a good team to get a car set up right so that it can run anywhere on the track and maintain a speed that will keep you up front.

I will agree with you on the Rusty factor. I've heard better but then again it could have been DW. Now that is bad !!

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

I happened to enjoy the race. Glad to see that it wasn't all the usual wrecks happening. And they could pass each other. I like the new Bristol track. I also like the COT.

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

You know, I've been reading a lot of bagging on the Bristol track... and I totally disagree. Bristol was my favorite track last year when I started watching the races seriously. Its my favorite still.

I LIKE that they can run wider, I LIKE the new banking.... I LIKE that there aren't as many wrecks. If I wanted to watch a race to watch the wrecks, I'd just find a demolition derby and have done with it.

And if any of the people holding tickets over the next few years don't want to go anymore, I'll gladly take a couple off their hands. Me, and about a million other people, I'm sure.

The COT is kinda starting to grow on me. I hope they can work more of the bugs out on it. And they will over time.

I'm not sure about ESPN's coverage. I don't hate it like I was getting to hate TNT's coverage. One thing I was grateful for last night is since theres' really no clean air at Bristol they were not able to trot out the #@!%$& draft track thing. Fox, TNT and ESPN all have their strong and weak points... I couldn't tell you which I like or dislike the most.

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

i am glad some of you enjoyed the ''race'' last nite, however it was not the usual show we see from a race at bristol.....125 laps and no caution make me wonder how hard they where racing......i notice they removed the chrome horns off of the c o t's

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

I'm sure you're aware but just in case .. the chrome horn never was on the COT. The front and th erear of the cars are the same height so it helps reduce the car in the back from lifting the one in the front.

I'll go along with Steel and suggest to anyone who no longer wants tickets to the race to please raise your hand. I'd be happy to go and watch a RACE !!!

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

Been going to this race for years and last night I left with 100 laps to go. Boring. COT sucks, not nearly as much speed it didnt seem and no bumping and banging and cautions to bunch em up again.

I guess you should watch demolition derby, because they are "racing" and, for me, a race is the fastest trying to get away from the other and not hold him back

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

Put me down as one who enjoyed the race. It's cool to me to watch them race 2 and 3 wide on a half mile track. What race were you guys watching?!!

We all watch for different reasons, I like the changes and look forward to next season.

Re: Bristol-ESPN-COT

When they first talked about the COT I was a bit nervous what was going to happen. I do not like the idea that they are all the same but I do think the racin has been better with this car. Next year will be a great year. The COT on every track and a major change in where drivers are.

Both of Bowyer's top 5 finishes this year were in the COT, and Kenseth hasn't been doing horrible (but not his best by any means). I'm getting accustomed to Ye Olde Winged Brick... will be interesting to see how everybody does next year when it is all COT.

I enjoyed it for the lack of cautions. Didn't hear every few laps " caution is out". But I don't watch it for the wrecks. And if the drivers were on their game and running good, they wouldn't need a caution to bunch em back up.
