Being myself almost, kinda, part-way retired, I feel your pain, IRT the "fixed income."

Froim some of the venomous things I've seen and heard, maybe some have the Red Army have adopted themselves into the Familia Earnhardt?

Voodoo is taken very seriously in some parts down here on the guld coast. We go over to The Big Easy every couple months. You possibly went to the shops down around Basin Street, or The Garden District. You should go to some of the voodoo shops off the beaten paths, out around Meterire or over by The City of the Dead.

Or better yet, go to some in one of the outlying areas like LaRose, LaPlace or Belle Chase, or even way south of N.O., all the way down around Venice. Different!

Re: # 8

Even better, if you can, go into the back rooms of a Voodoo shop. The rooms the general public never get to see.

I worked with a video production company out of Atlanta for a while. We went to New Orleans to film a documentary on the Voodoo religion, and were allowed into some of those back rooms. I've got to tell you, they were spooky. There was stuff in there I had no idea what was, and really didn't want to know. There was someone with us every second we were there, showing us what we could film and what we couldn't. If they said no, you did not argue, or you'd find yourself back out on the street in a heartbeat, not knowing if you had a spell put on you or what.

Re: # 8

He's gonna be driving the 8 next year with Aric Almirola, or so they say.
DEI is going to make their offical statement in Richmond the weekend of the Chevy Rock & Roll 400.

I haven't heard, but maybe Regan Smith will since he came to DEI through Ginn. Maybe he won't be hung out to dry after all.

Re: # 8

Right now I'm not sure if I should be upset or not. I trust Max as a businessman and know he's trying to make the best of a very ticklish situation, BUT (ya knew that was comin' didn't ya?)

The 8 has it's own "mystique" and legion of followers. Putting Mark into it on a part time basis will, as some have already said, lessen the blow to the die hards, not that any of them are Mark fans... However, Aric is another matter. He's probably virtually unknown by the "8-heads" and it's a toss up whether they revolt or not, BUT (another one!!!)

What about the US Army and the 01 car? It doesn't make sense for both Mark and Army to go to 8: that'd require a contract change in the least for Army plus all new souvenirs, etc.. So it gets down to what's in a number and what's Max trying to get accomplished? Nothing clear here, yet.

Until I hear the official announcement, I'm reserving comment on the rumor.

Re: # 8

I'm only one Jr fan, but I followed Jr, not the number. Of course I do realize there are some fans that think he was a number 8, the color red and Bud. However, I think there are more that live in the real world, like me , that know the number and color didn't make Jr. And seeing as how the #8 existed before he came along, he didn't make the number or the color.
But I do see your point. There are a few morons that'll think nobody else is worthy of driving a car on the 8 on it.

Re: # 8

Martin in the 8 I can live with. Too bad it's only part-time.
