Tryson with Penske

Pat Tryson is now working with Team Penske and is happy about it. Check out his remarks. How do you feel about the move ?

Re: Tryson with Penske

That's a good read LSC. Thanks.

Feelings - Busch (Kurt in this thread) can flat out pilot a race car. Seems to be able to get all there is out of what's available on any given day. Seems also to be "gettin' with the program". Time will tell.

Tryson - initial feeling is - good to see an individual "land on their feet". Know little of his history, background, path to current position, etc. Dude eats apples. Can't be all bad.

Right now they're on a real impressive string.

Lifted from the article:
"It was frustrating," Tryson recalled. "You feel like you're taking the blame for everything. Whether I was fired, let go or whatever you want to call it, it's not good for your reputation.

"You're the fall guy or bad guy or whatever. I didn't know how it was going to work."

IRT success, never underestimate the power of motivation.

Re: Tryson with Penske

motivation is painting a vision of success and then allowing people to perform to that level and higher - a good boss knows that and practices it.

Jack does not allow his people to color outside the lines he draws. Roger is different, he gives you the tools and goals then turns you loose - he's there to help, but doesn't stand in your way. both are successful for different reasons.

Tryson found he didn't fit in Jack's mold, though he tried. now he's found something that's more "comfortable" and "encouraging" in Roger's organization so now his optimism and confidence is contagious. he's helping the whole Penske program turn around.

I'm not sure that Pat is a motivating factor but it does seem like Kurt (I can't believe I'm writing this) is making an effort to change his attitude. Wouldn't it be great if the Busch brothers had nice attitudes ???
