I went with Kyle Petty again. I just don't think the others do as much for the sport and the fans, as he does. He might not be the winnest(?) driver out there, but in the long run, with what all he has done for the sport( on and off the track), and the fans of Nascar, and people in general, he is the best.

It was a real toss up between Jef Burton and Kyle. I took Kyle because of Burton's uncalled for slam against Montoya at the Glen.

I voted Ken Schrader just because he promotes stock car racing in all it's forms....isn't tied to just one division of NASCAR like some of the others.

Not only that I can't even name his sponsor - a big plus in my book.

If you want the represenative of NASCAR to just be about "racing" stock cars - then Ken is it. Look at him, he's just a guy who races. Not a pretty boy, not an heir to a big racing name or anything like that.

Petty isn't bad - but Petty is more about raising money for charities. There is nothing wrong with that but that doesn't speak NASCAR to me.

you made all great points there bob .... i agree Ken is one of those guys that will race anything with wheels .... and i love your point about his sponsor

and i totally see your point about Kyle .... every time you see him he is talking about his Camp, which as you said is wonderful .... just doesnt do much for the sport

it would be between jeff and jeff.
and has much as I like burton and not so much gordon, I have to give the knood to gordon simply because he is alway in the media, is a very good pitch man, is clean cut, and mostly stay out of controvery. not that burton is bad, I just don't think he has as much star power.

kyle is great, but he is definitly about the charity side of things........bless his heart!
