With the chase just a few races away and Jr is currently 163 points out of 12th place .... will he make it into the chase ???

I went with no. I would love to see him make it, but I just don't think he will. If he's gonna make it, he better start hoofing it, can't have any more bad runs and bad luck.

it's not a matter of him "making" it, it's who will "fall out" .. right now it looks like Clint is the only one in jeopardy but he just keeps rolling off top 15's and that'll keep him well ahead of Jr. who's up and down every week.

the other Jr. (his teammate) seems to be finishing ahead of him in every race, so there's no gains there (Truex Jr. will make the Chase, depending on the RCR/DEI engine reliability problem.)

Kurt is on a roll, he's hungry and he's gonna be in the Top 5 when the Chase starts. he has 2 wins and could have a 3rd going in.

if Ryan starts finishing races the same way he starts them he'll be close to making the Chase and ahead of Jr.

right now, Jr. is his own worst enemy. he's pressing too hard and over-stressing everything and everybody around him. if he could find a non-racing related outlet for this pressure, he'd see results on the track.

I doubt he'll make it this year. He's been making too many mental mistakes on the track, not to mention all that's been going on off the track. He's said it's not effecting him, but how can it not? When he has to call a press conference to say he's been reading stuff on the internet about Teresa, that's not effecting him off the track?
Maybe in a year of two he'll finally get there, if he'll put this family conflict with his step-mom behind him and concentrate on racing for HMS.

dale jr is a sell out deserves what he gets.

i dont get along with my step mom but ill tell you what if my father was gone and he built something great, it would take a hell of a lot more than an evil stepmother and money for me to turn my back on my name.

lost my respect for dale jr.

That's one way of looking at it, but wouldn't you eventually get sick of the comments like "he's only here because of his old man" or "he can't escape his dad's shadow?" I know Junior's anxious to make his own name and stand on his own two feet, and I'm in no way convinced that that's a bad thing.

I think you misunderstood what I wrote.
I meant he should concentrate on racing for HMS next year, not this year.
Then maybe in the next year or two he'll start winning championships.

I'm a Jr fan and I wouldn't mind seeing the same thing. Not so much against Jr, but more saying to Hendrick, look what you fired and look what you got. Giving up a champ to get one that didn't make top 12. For Kyle, that would be a big f you to Hendrick.
