i dont get along with my step mom but ill tell you what if my father was gone and he built something great, it would take a hell of a lot more than an evil stepmother and money for me to turn my back on my name.
lost my respect for dale jr.
even if i wasnt running good i would sacrafice everything to make shure i was as involved as possible in perserving my fathers legacy. |
Sell out, huh? That's a bit of a stretch. Just doesn't make any sense. He's trying to make a name for himself out from under the umbrella of DEI. What's wrong with that? Isn't that what most Jr. haters complain about? There is far more behind the story than Jr. not "running good". Most fans understand that. Besides, what did he "sell"? Nothing!
Deserves what he gets? Yes. He does. But not based on his decision to leave DEI, but based on who he is as a person and what he can accomplish on the track. Oh, wait a minute ... last time I checked he's been voted the Most Popular Driver for the past few years. Yup! He deserves that.
Evil stepmother and money has nothing to do with it. He tried to negotiate long and hard. I say he should take his talent, his name, and his popularity and find his own way.
Sad that you lost whatever respect you might have had for Jr. based on the events of this season. Most fans lose respect for a driver based on their behavior on the track, and sometimes off, e.g., Kurt Busch and the police. We all know there have been many instances of that.
Sr.'s legacy will be preserved and go on and on, regardless of where Jr. spends the rest of his career. There's no debating that fact. DEI, a.k.a. TEI, will survive.
I didn't vote one way or the other whether or not Jr. will make the chase. Que sera sera. One season does not a career make. I sure hope he makes it, but even if he does, can he win the Cup? Don't know.
RD and LSC, I'm packing my bags for the trailer ...
