The No. 31 Richard Childress Racing car was unloaded as a plain orange and black car without AT&T logos Friday morning at Bristol Motor Speedway.
With NASCAR Vice President of Racing Operations Steve O'Donnell watching, the Jeff Burton crew unloaded the car at 6 a.m. with a car that met NASCAR's approval.
That's because it didn't have AT&T logos on it. It didn't have any logos on the hood or the side panels.
The team hauler was plain black with the 31 number, and the team was wearing gray RCR t-shirts. All AT&T logos have been removed from pit equipment as well.
NASCAR and AT&T have been embroiled in a legal battle since March over the logos, the result of a merger involving Cingular and AT&T in December 2006.

t would definitly bring attntion and Iam sure unwanted negativity to nextel, especailly if burton were to win the race.

There is this perverse part of me that is glad that the at&t logos are off the 31... that car has looked hideous since they replaced the Cingular guy. Still, I just hope that this all gets resolved soon for Jeff Burton's sake.

unfortunately, it won't be resolved until all the legal stuff is resolved and that's gonna take a while.

I don't think Jeff is concerned about what's on his car .. he's a driver and a racer .. he lets the other stuff be someone else's worry.

The thing that Nascar dosn't understand is that even without the logo, we all know what car it is, who was the sponsor and why the logo isn't on the car. It just makes Nascar and Nextel look like school yard bullies.

Yea, but I bet the commentators during the race will be given strict orders not to bring up the lack of logos or at least what the name is of the missing logo.

Notice the missing? It's a lot like the service they provide.

This just goes to show, it's not about racin' anymore. It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Otherwise, this wouldn't be much of a story.
