Normally I like a good orange & blue color scheme, as they are directly across from each other on the color wheel. IF it is done correctly. That particular shade of blue clashed badly with the orange. If they were going to do an AT&T car they should have gone all out and made it in the blue & white color scheme that IS AT&T. They were probably keeping the orange to maintain the connection with the Cingular days. The Cingular logo in black looked a lot better.
Now, if they had just gone with a plain black AT&T logo on the hood, it would have looked tons better. Don't know if their Corporate Identity specifications would have allowed it, but it would have looked better.
Getting to the design of the paint scheme without the main logos... its dramatic enough to pull off the plain hood and somewhat plain sides. Its not overly gaudy, nor is it too plain. Jeff Burton was easy to spot BECAUSE of his lack of logo.
If AT&T, NASCAR and Nextel were smart, they'd come up with a compromise. Put the Cingular guy back on the hood, but instead of the black dot for his head, the AT&T logo, in black. That would keep it from standing out too much, but the identity is still there and everybody knows who it is anyway. Problem solved.
