Luckily Nascar doesn't control ESPN, FOX, TNT, or SPEED. The networks can have whoever they want sponsor their coverage. In fact I believe AT&T already sponsors some of the coverage, maybe not on ESPN but they do with FOX. I beleive they sponsor the poll question that they display every race. Also Nascar can't keep AT&T out of the Busch series or CTS. So I am not sure why AT&T isn't putting their name all over the Busch series destroying the Nextel/Sprint name. I will never ever use Sprint. I am not a huge RCR fan or a Burton fan. What Nascar and Sprint is doing is hurting our sport. They may think they are protecting it, but they are destroying it beyond repair if they keep this up.

Since AT&T sponsors the poll question the question sunday should be "Do you agree with Nascar and Sprint in keeping AT&T from sponsoring Jeff Burton." Once the poll comes back in huge favor of AT&T maybe Nascar will see they are hurting their fans.

I wish Kyle Petty was in the booth, he would say something about it. He ain't scared of no Nascar.

Wouldn't it be neat if they could become the sponsor of the Busch Series?

That would be funny as hell, and a hell of an idea.

Because it was Craptastic beforehand! The AT&T logo looked butt ugly against the orange background. Normally I like a good orange & blue color scheme, as they are directly across from each other on the color wheel. IF it is done correctly. That particular shade of blue clashed badly with the orange. If they were going to do an AT&T car they should have gone all out and made it in the blue & white color scheme that IS AT&T. They were probably keeping the orange to maintain the connection with the Cingular days. The Cingular logo in black looked a lot better.

Now, if they had just gone with a plain black AT&T logo on the hood, it would have looked tons better. Don't know if their Corporate Identity specifications would have allowed it, but it would have looked better.

Getting to the design of the paint scheme without the main logos... its dramatic enough to pull off the plain hood and somewhat plain sides. Its not overly gaudy, nor is it too plain. Jeff Burton was easy to spot BECAUSE of his lack of logo.

If AT&T, NASCAR and Nextel were smart, they'd come up with a compromise. Put the Cingular guy back on the hood, but instead of the black dot for his head, the AT&T logo, in black. That would keep it from standing out too much, but the identity is still there and everybody knows who it is anyway. Problem solved.
