Bristol truck race

Bristol truck race
Did anyone watch the truck race? I went up to the track and watched it. WONDERFUL. The track is great. They were passing on the outside of the turns. Used to be a no-no at Bristol. Kyle Busch almost made it 3 wide a couple of times. I was like NO_NO don't do it. Can't wait to see the cup cars on the track. I am going to sit Friday out and just go Saturday.

Re: Bristol truck race

That was a great truck race! Best thing about it was Skinner didn't win.

Seriously though... that was a good run between Kvapil and Busch... too bad they spun out. Interesting to see Kyle admit he screwed up. I wonder if the lad is growing up a bit?

Johnny Benson's pit strategy paid off well.

Re: Bristol truck race

I understand one of our hometown boys, Bradley Reithmeyer, finished 20th after starting last 'cause he was a minute late for the driver's meeting (he qualified 21st). An interesting story about Bradley making this race. Bradley's sponsor bought a chassis with a body and an engine and sent them to Bradley's dad in Austin and told him to put it together and make it fast for Bradley. Keith, Bradley's dad, had to pay for everything else and Keith has only a small automotive repair garage so doesn't have the mega-$$$ other teams have. I hear he went in the hole getting Bradley's truck ready and it was up to Bradley to make a positive out of it. So there was a little added pressure on Bradley for this race .. I'm glad he did good.

BTW: Bradley was our SLM series (ROMCO) Champ a few years ago and was selected by Ford to be their spotlight driver last year and to drive their "All American Driver Challenge Car" All American Driver | It's anybody's shot.

Bradley is also a college student at Texas A&M when he isn't racing.

Just don't miss this Saturday evenings race. It is going to be better than you've seen at Bristol before. There will even be three wide racing. I'm excited and in the past I haven't cared for Bristol because it is one constant caution.

Re: Bristol truck race

I didn't get a chance to see it but listened to it on PRN. Sounded like a very good race and the drivers were uniformily positive about the changes made to the track. I think I may forego going to our local track this Saturday and watch the Cup race.

Congratulations to Gonzo (Brendan Gaughn) for a good 2nd.
