I doubt he gets a ride.

Nowdays to get a ride you need one of two things.

Ability to run in the top 20 or so each and every week.
Some bang out personallity or new personallity so you get talked about.

Don't think for a second there's not owners out there who think they can make money running in the back of the pack and plan on it by using that driver. Case in point. Petty Enterprises. Kyle Petty is still a draw/personality with the fundraising etc...don't think for a second they do a cost analysis to see where they have to run to make money. Being in the top 35 works for them. If they had a driver who got less exposure/name they would have to run much higher for the same return money/sponsorship wise.

thats not a bad team for ken ny to go to, but it's a 2nd rate team, is petty retiring as a driver after this year ???

wouldn't seeing him in the AutoZone #8 next year.

Last Friday he did an interview about smacking his hand in the hauler and judging by what he said, I wouldn't look for it next year, oncea3fan:

"People always say, 'How much longer you going to do this?' But obviously if I like [racing] enough to punch a wall then I'm going to be here a few more years. Like I said, one day I'll wake up and not want to ride around in circles anymore and I'll just quit."
