Re: Kenny Wallace Stepping Down

I would guess that Kenny is stepping down because he knows that he is getting to the point in his life where prime rides are not going to happen anymore. He has a job with Speed that pays the bills and one that he does a pretty good job at. Why mess with fate ? Aren't there already enough drivers out there that are beyond their prime ? Mark Martin is capable of keeping his team in the top 35 without the help of anyone. I think any team is better off trying to bring up a rookie instead of filling the seat with a proven non-winner. I know you're thinking that Kenny just never had the chance with a great team and you may be correct, but .... he is still a proven non-winner for the most part. He's 43 years old, 27 top tens and zero wins. Nice guy ... yes. Winner ... NO !!

Re: Kenny Wallace Stepping Down

I've always loved Kenny Wallace's enthusiasm for NASCAR. I really hope he does well in the future, which I'm sure he will.
I think he's pretty well paid his dues and he deserves the best he can get both on and off the track.

I don't think Mark has any desire to drive the 8 car. he's happy with his current team and sponsor. and now that he's also gonna be in charge of driver development (is that rumor or fact?), it makes even less sense. there's still a few good drivers out there who are/will become available that would fit the 8 car well (Biffle is one...)

Re: Kenny Wallace Stepping Down

...continued.

Kenny needs to find another team who needs a mid-pack driver. Furniture Row was such a team, there are others. unless a top team has need of a relief driver, that's about the only option open to him. of course there's always the microphone gigs...

Something I've found we disagree venemently on. Oh well, that's why they make more than one colour of car, no?

IMNSVHO, the ONLY (repeat O-N-L-Y) Wallace I would sit down and enjoy an adult beverage with is Mike. "The Hermanator" has an irritating laugh which sounds like a peacock in heat. To me, Kenny is just a Waltrip without the height. Rusty's normal personality is one of arragance and self importance and his spawn, Steve, proves that the apple seldom falls far from the tree.

I agree with you on the last part about Rusty for it so very true ,as well as the part about Steven .

On the other hand I am a HUGE fan of BOTH Mike & Kenny.Have been since 1994. I would love to spend a day with both of them ,but especially Kenny . I'm also a fan of Mikey Waltrip.
