| Gibbs: no deadline on extending with General Motors JGR President J.D. Gibbs said there was no deadline for deciding whether the team will extend its 16-year relationship with General Motors. "We had great conversations with GM over the past month," Gibbs said. "We're not even to the point of saying, 'Hey, what's the deadline?' " Gibbs wouldn't comment on whether he'd talked with Toyota, which wants to expand its seven-car lineup to 11 or 12 in the next few seasons. Toyota Racing Development General Manager Lee White said the manufacturer didn't have a deal with JGR but had talked to the team. White wouldn't rule out adding cars for '08 but said the manufacturer would need to make tremendous strides before adding a title-caliber team. None of the seven Camrys are in the top 35 in points.-- USA Today Kyle Busch set for Tuesday introduction to Gibbs Racing - USATODAY.com |

| Re: Gibbs: no deadline on extending with General Motors poor Shrub, he can't get any respect at all: even when the headline has his name in it, the bulk of the story is about others. he has become my sentimental favorite to win this year's championship. for all the negatives in his short stay at HMS, he's never failed go give 110% when on the track, often accomplishing what "experts" thought couldn't be .. that alone should have required better treatment than he's received. a warning to J.D. and co.: he'll be gone before his first year is over if you treat him the same as you did JJ.
